NEW PROTESTANT MOVEMENTS IN KAZAKHSTAN: HISTORY AND CURRENT SITUATION

Abstract

In modern multi-confessional Kazakhstan, religious associations, including Protestant ones, are represented by different organizations. The study and research of these faiths is relevant in the context of strengthening interfaith harmony. In the article, the authors examined the history of new Protestant movements, their activities in the world, as well as in Kazakhstan. The purpose of this article is to analyze and systematize new religious movements representing the Protestant trend. Comparative analysis and secondary data processing were used in writing this article. The introduction of the article gives an excursion into the history of Protestantism in the world, its manifestation in different countries and its influence on the religious situation of a particular country; the main part explores the foundations of Protestantism, its main directions, as well as new religious movements of the Protestant persuasion, the history of the emergence and formation of Protestantism on the territory of Kazakhstan and analyzed its current state in the context of the religious situation in the country.
