Abstract

Today, the main trends in regional development are directly or indirectly related to the global world order. In this context, one of the most significant benefits of global development is the enhanced understanding between diverse cultures and civilizations. Based on the theory of “cultural pluralism,” religion, culture, and tradition serve as unifying factors between countries, regions, and civilizations. Therefore, respecting the cultural values and traditions of peoples is crucial for promoting harmonious global development while preserving their uniqueness and identity. The world community recognizes the importance of promoting universal human values across religions, understanding the necessity to unite the goals and intentions of different religious representatives. Religion, alongside moral values and traditions, possesses the potential to foster harmony and peace among people, promote human unity, and address global challenges. In modern society, there’s a growing realization that sharing experiences, transparency, and a commitment to development drive new opportunities and a desire for sustainable development. In the era of global development, issues of mutual understanding, support, dialogue, and cooperation consistently top the world agenda. This article examines the challenge of enhancing the potential of interfaith harmony as a means of strengthening societal unity among representatives of different ethnic groups and faiths. It also reviews state-level initiatives in Kazakhstan, social research findings, and explores mechanisms determining the functional efficiency of this domain.
