THE OBJECTIVE OF PRESERVING THE HOMELAND

Abstract

This study raises a new issue of protecting the homeland, which is an important goal of Islamic Sharia, and shows that no Islamic system can survive without paying attention to such an important objective. There is an idea in people’s minds that there are five principels, which are recorded in the books of basic fiqh books and other works, and one cannot deviate or add to them. However, upon investigation, we find that these principels were received through the ijtihads of earlier respected and authoritative scholars, and none of them said that the door of ijtihad was closed and that any addition to them was prohibited. But the presence of links and texts is noticeable, indicating the possibility of changing their name and order, as well as their quantity and addition. It is clear that the doors of ijtihad are open and it must be based on the texts of the Quran and Sunnah, not contradicting them, but trying to understand them and reap their fruits and benefits for all ages (eras). Therefore, the issue of protecting the homeland is one of the important and necessary goals in the context of internal conflicts and external provocations in the Islamic world, the purpose of which is to create confrontation between the homeland and religion and sacrifice the homeland for the sake of protecting religion.
